The Computer Technology Program is a 760 clock hour diploma program that prepares graduates for entry-level employment in organizations where foundational level information technology skills are needed. The Computer Hardware and Networking program requires students to complete 300 clock hours of preparation toward industry certification(s) through coursework. Students are also required to complete courses that provide preparation for employment and independent living. Supervised 310 hours of internship is also required.
Students who successfully complete all required courses in their program of study will be presented with a diploma. Students must complete 100% of the program’s required hours, earn a minimum of 2.0 cumulative grade point average, fulfill all financial obligations to the institution, and all additional required graduation clearance processes.
The Computer Hardware and Networking track prepares students for the CompTIA ITF+ Certification. Career paths for the Computer Hardware and Networking tracks include Network and Computer Systems Support, Service Technician, Computer User Support Specialist and Computer and Mobile Device Repair Technician.
Microsoft Office Specialist track prepares students for certifications in the Microsoft Office Suite. For Microsoft Office Track available career paths include Data Entry, Office Clerks, Receptionist, and Administrative Assistant.
Both Computer Technology tracks are 760 clock-hour program, which includes 310 internship clock hours for a hands-on experience to practice their skills with a local business or organization in the field.
Classroom-Based Delivery: All of the courses (except internship) are delivered with instruction and interaction between the student and the instructor occurring primarily in a physical classroom.
Hybrid Delivery: A program in which both the physical classroom and distance delivery are used to provide instruction and interaction between students and the instructor, except labs and internship. All hands-on technical skills building labs are conducted on the ground via classroom-based delivery.
Total program hours include an Internship that is a full-time commitment of 310 hours delivered off-site, in a real-world environment (internship site). Actual times are set by the internship sites. Students are responsible for transportation to and from the internship site, as well as meals.
Marino Campus Computer Technology Program prepares students for nationally recognized industry certifications (CompTIA ITF+) and entry-level employment. Career paths include Network and Computer Systems Support, Service Technician, Computer User Support Specialist, and Computer and Mobile Device Repair Technician.
