PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The Business Office Support Program is designed to prepare students for entry-level employment in organizations where clerical and administrative support is needed. Upon completing the program, students will gain sufficient skills to perform a variety of clerical tasks, including answering telephones, typing documents, scheduling appointments, data entry, and filing records. Supervised 310 hours of internship is also required. A diploma is issued to students who have completed the program.

Students who successfully complete all required courses in their program of study, will be presented a diploma. Students must complete 100% of the programs required hours, earn a minimum of 2.0 cumulative grade point average, and fulfil all financial obligations to the institution as well as all any additional required graduation clearance processes.

PROGRAM DELIVERY

Classroom-Based Delivery: All of the courses (except internship) are delivered with instruction and interaction between the student and the instructor occurring primarily in a physical classroom.

Hybrid Delivery: A program in which both the physical classroom and distance delivery are used to provide instruction and interaction between students and the instructor, except labs and internship. All hands-on technical skills building labs are conducted on-ground via classroom-based delivery.

Total program hours include an Internship that is a full-time commitment of 310 hours delivered off-site, in a real-world environment (internship site). Actual times are set by the internship sites. Students are responsible for transportation to and from the internship site and meals.

PROGRAM OCCUPATIONAL OBJECTIVE

Graduates of this program may find entry-level employment as clerical support staff in various offices, including law offices, hospitals, insurance companies, billing centers, or other businesses where administrative and clerical skills are required. The Business Office Support Program prepares students for nationally recognized industry certifications that may be required for entry-level employment. Career paths include: Data Entry, Office Clerks, Receptionist, and Administrative Assistant.
